Welcome to the Sierra Crestellina Natural Park, introduction of our team and program to the participants. Through an illustrated story of the history of the first cheese we explain what a cheese is and how wisely the human has been able to transform natural resources into food.
We will make a brief tour throuh the natural surroundings where our goats graze daily and we will discover with which other wild animals share habitat and why the human needed to domesticate some of them, with special emphasis on the importance of the role that animals play in our lives and their benefits for the environment as well as the repercussions has for our health the food obtained from them.
We will show you a traditional farm that has almost 500 goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats …, explaining which is the work of each of the animals on the farm as well as the life of the shepherd and how he manages his livestock . From autumn until the end of spring, it is a farrowing season and hopefully we can see the birth of goats. The great attraction for a child, for example, will be hugging their young and being photographed with them.
Once in the milking parlor we will have the possibility of milking our goats so that each participant can experience obtaining milk, something unforgettable …
