At Go Insitu, we’re true lovers of homemade and artisanal products and we are goint to know the differences between craft and industrial beer. We believe that nothing can match the result of something handmade and made with the greatest care in the world. There are many products of this type: olive oils, cheeses, cured meats, jams… But today we’re going to focus on one in particular: beer.<\/p>\n

In fact, a few weeks ago we told you about the benefits of craft beer<\/a>. And today, beyond the advantages it offers, we want to go a step further. Specifically, by telling you what makes this type of beer different. So, if you want to know the differences between craft and industrial beer, don’t miss what we bring you in this new post.<\/p>\n

Differences between craft and industrial beer<\/h2>\n

The main difference between craft and industrial beer has to do with their production method, which, as you can imagine, is much more homemade. But… what does “homemade” mean? Let’s try to summarize it.<\/p>\n

1. Natural Ingredients<\/h3>\n

To begin with, unlike industrial beer, craft beer is made from 100% natural ingredients. That is, it contains no artificial additives or preservatives, just yeast, water, malts, and hops.<\/p>\n

2. The Recipe<\/h3>\n

Industrial beers are made from a standard recipe that seeks ingredients and processes that are economically viable. Craft beers, on the other hand, test different formulas created by their master brewer until they find the right recipe for all levels.<\/p>\n

3. Brewing Process<\/h3>\n

The brewing process is also very different. With craft beers, everything is done manually or with minimal help from machinery, quite the opposite of what happens with industrial beers. With the latter, everything is automatic and human involvement is minimized.<\/p>\n

4. Filtering<\/h3>\n

The filtering process is also quite different, as in craft beers, it is done manually, without the intervention of large machines. And yes, as you might imagine, the exact opposite happens in industrial beers, as chemical filtration is performed that eliminates residues but also destroys yeasts and proteins, diminishing the beer’s properties.<\/p>\n

5. Flavor<\/h3>\n

In terms of flavor, the truth is that they almost seem like two different products. Craft beer is a more complex beer, with greater body, flavor, and aroma. In fact, it offers different nuances that are impossible to find in industrial beer.<\/p>\n

6. A Local Product<\/h3>\n

Apart from everything we’ve discussed so far, hand-crafted beer is a local, local product. Industrial beer responds to a globalization model based on large corporations. So, investing in craft beers means investing in local products and small and medium-sized businesses.<\/p>\n

7. Objectives<\/h3>\n

Regarding the objectives of brewing beer, craft beer seeks to achieve the best possible flavor and aroma, among many other nuances. Industrial beer’s objective is to maximize profits and reduce costs as much as possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
