An experience to discover the fascinating world of Extra Virgin Olive Oil production in an olive oil mill in the Sierra de Cádiz, surrounded by nature.
In the modern olive oil mill in the Sierra de Cádiz of the Cooperativa de Remedios Picasat. You can see how two types of oil are produced differently. One from organic production and the other from integrated production. This is a medium-sized mill with industrial machinery, where you can learn about the current process of receiving the olives, their grinding, centrifugation, care, and packaging for distribution. Visitors can observe each stage of the process and understand the importance of each phase in obtaining high-quality oil.
The classification of oils according to their quality is presented through an introductory or advanced tasting, if you have previous experience with olive oil. During the tasting, different nuances of the oil, its aromas, and flavors are analyzed, learning how to distinguish the characteristics that define an excellent product.
The visit also includes learning how the byproducts of the olive grove are used and repurposed, such as being turned into fertilizer to care for the environment. Our composting plant is open for visits, allowing you to see the process by which olive residues are transformed into natural fertilizers. Other forms of reuse, such as generating biomass for energy use, are also explained.
Our visit is open to any visitor or tourist. Additionally, we have experience hosting larger groups, such as schoolchildren, high school and university students. Also, hospitality schools or restaurant staff. We also offer more technical visits for olive mill staff, farmers, consumer groups, and olive oil industry professionals, who can delve into specific aspects of production.

It was a very interesting experience to see how quality olive oil is made – from start to finish. We had a great local guide, assisted by a charming English interpreter. A good team! Money well spent!
