Do you want to be an olive grower for a day? We offer you the chance to experience authentic olive harvesting and oil milling.
We will start by learning about olive harvesting, an essential process carried out between October and November, when the olive grove reaches its early harvest stage.
Our oil is called “early harvest” because we pick the olives during the “veraison,” a magical moment when the olives, still green, begin to acquire purple hues. The olive picking day begins under the olive trees, where you will experience “vareo” (shaking) and the manual collection of olives. This traditional method preserves respect for the land and techniques passed down through generations.
The tour continues with a visit to stunning ancient olive trees, true agricultural and cultural treasures that stand as witnesses to centuries of history. These trees, with their twisted trunks and majestic presence, are part of our heritage and tell stories from ancient times.
After exploring the olive grove, we’ll take a break to enjoy a delicious snack with typical local products. This moment is designed for you to recharge while savoring the authentic local culinary traditions. Of course, the experience also includes a visit to our oil mill, where you’ll get a close look at the milling process. Here, you’ll discover how we transform the olives into high-quality organic extra virgin olive oil, a product valued for both its taste and its artisanal production.
Finally, you will conclude the day with a visit to our exhibition on the history of olive trees, from the Arab era to the present, learning about the Lucio olive trees and their significance. The experience will end with a varied oil tasting, the perfect opportunity to savor the unique notes and nuances of our organic EVOO.
To enjoy this experience, a minimum of 2 people is required. If this number is not met, the host will offer alternative dates.
