My name is José Germán García Aguilera, I am the fourth generation of a family of farmers from Villanueva del Trabuco (Málaga) who has been dedicated to caring for olive trees for more than 100 years.
After studying advertising and dedicating myself for several years to design and marketing outside our town, I went back to my roots and found an almost ruined construction, unbearable in sight and scratching my heart. From that moment it was clear to me that my goal was to recover our heritage, so that the new generations could have a living testimony of the agricultural culture of southern Andalusia.
After more than a decade working hard and without rest we have managed to raise the Mill again. Giving back part of its splendor and beauty. Keeping alive the legacy that our ancestors transmitted to us through the “Ruta del Olivo” project, we intend to make known to all audiences, the culture of oil, one of the fundamental axes of the Andalusian economy. Our facilities, located in Soap Mill, are composed of: farmhouse, traditional oil mill, flour mill, aqueduct and inn.
All are integreated in a exceptional charming framework , recognized as Andalusian Ethnographic Heritage, and of Cultural Interest. Located on the banks of the Guadalhorce river, very close to its source, and at the foot of the Mountain of San Jorge.
