The Association of Livestock Breeders of the Sheep Breed Lojeña del Poniente Granadino (ACROL), founded in 2007, is a non-profit organization of purebred breeders with 51 members, whose purpose is the conservation, improvement and dissemination of the race.
The Lojeña Sheep Breed Association receives the award for sustainability in rural areas in 2015 from the Spanish Network for Rural Development in Bujalance. It is also a member of the Spanish Federation of Select Cattle Associations.
The Association always tries to innovate and that is why collaborations are made with the best chefs, ham cutters, wool artisans, etc.
The Lojeña sheep always have an extensive rearing system with natural and organic food all year round. Sanitary and hygienic management is combined with natural therapies, such as phytotherapy or the use of medicinal flora such as thyme, rosemary and miera oil. In homeopathy, a homeopathic plan has been established for the control and / or prevention of conditions using different remedies, arnica, echinacea, calcareous, etc.
The Lojeña sheep has a production system in place that covers different formats of lambs, according to the types of markets (lambs, lamb, lamb and heavy lambs for export to Arab communities (Fiesta del Cordero, Ramadan)
